December 2011 Results

This past Saturday,Dec 11, 2011, East Coast Bass Anglers held their monthly tournament, launching at the Scott Driver Ramp on Lake Okeechobee. Ten anglers caught a total of 48 bass weighing a combined total 96.03 lbs.Al had a bit of bad luck this tournament, on the way back to the ramp for weigh in, his engine gave up the ghost. Sorry Al, Get it rebuilt soon.
Fishing was great for some anglers with six anglers bringing five fish limits to the scale. First place boat was taken by Bob Haarer and his blind draw (Ron Oeschner) who had a combined total of 23.11 pounds. Bob had the big stringer for the tournament totaling a whopping 14.80 pounds. Second Place was Karlis Ewing and his blind draw (Ron Oeschner) with a total weight of 21.56 pounds. Third place was Mike Jones and Mark Lundgren with a total combined weight of 20.41 pounds. Anglers with five fish limits were: Mike Jones; Mike Kenzie; Bob Haarer; Carl Lewis; Ron Oeschner; and Karlis Ewing (Our guest for this tournament, Justin Jones, also had a five fish limit.)
Ed Owens, caught a nice bass back in March 2011 during our tournament which ends up being the biggest bass caught for the year. Fish weighed in at 7.59 pounds.
First tournament for the new year will be on Back on the Big O launching at Scott Diver Ramp. Next Meeting will be on January 11th, 2012, with the tournament taking place on January 21st, 2012. This year was a good year for fishing, water levels are almost back to normal which makes for a better fishing environment. See ya on the water and Tight Lines.
