Mark with his 4.24 pound Tourney Big Bass.

East Coast Bass Anglers held their monthly tournament launching at Safe Light out of Okee-Tanie, on Lake Okeechobee. Wind was out of the South East at about 15 MPH and had been blowing all night. Ground swells were about two feet or better. I headed for my primary spot on the lake but passed it by for a spot in Taylor Creek out of the wind.

My partner had his first in the Live well about 10 minutes after we shut down and started some serious fishing, He got his second fish while I had four or five hits missing them all. Finally about an hour into our fishing, I got one and put it in the live well. A few casts later I got my second and third. Then I had three short fish followed by two more keepers. All within about a 10 or 15 minute window.

We went out into the main part of the creek and I picked up a rattle trap and made a cast, got hit by a pretty big fish and lost it about half way to the boat. We hit a second canal and went in about 100 yards with no luck and decided to move to the rim canal. No luck again. Went back out through the locks to the main lake and to my primary spot, while I was setting the trolling motor, my partner got his third fish. I also got one that culled a shorter fish in my live well. We both caught a couple of short fish and although the wind had laid down some, the waves were still rolling, at least 12 inches and it was hard to maintain the boat in the right position and almost impossible to fish and run the boat too. But it was time to head to the ramp so, we tied everything down and went in. I had five and my partner had three. Big stringer for the day was Hunter Broggi with 11.06 pounds Big fish for the day was Mark Lundgren with a nice 4.24 pound bass Results for the tournament are as follows.
