Matt Johnson with 9.32 pound Tourney Big Fish.

East Coast Bass Anglers fished their Monthly Tournament launching out of the J&S Ramp on the East Side of Lake Okeechobee.

This report is about one of our newest members, Matt Johnson. Matt joined East Coast Bass Anglers in July 2006 after fishing a tournament as a guest. In his first tournament as an Official member Matt came to the scale with a total weight of 7.79 pounds. Nice catch. But, this month, only his second month with the club, was his greatest. Matt caught 4 bass in this tournament and 3 of those fish were just barely keepers weighing in at 3.23 pounds. However, his other fish came to the scale as big fish for the tournament and the biggest fish Matt has ever caught weighing in at 9.32 pounds. Matt caught this fish within about 100 yards of the boat ramp not long before the tournament was terminated. It was definitely an exciting catch for Matt who was congratulated by all of the anglers present. Certainly the catch of a lifetime. Congratulations again to Matt for this fine catch.

First Place this month will go to the team of Ken Hall and Chuck Berger with a total of 19.00 pounds. 2nd Place winners are Ed Owens and Matt Johnson with a total weight of 15.21 pounds and of course Matt had the big fish for this tournament. 3d Place goes to Jeff Eagerly and Leroy Bauer with a total weight of 14.92 pounds.
