Bobby's Big Fish plus.

East Coast Bass Anglers launched at Safe Light in very low water at the J&S Ramp on the East side Of Lake Okeechobee. Each Angler had his place already staked out and at safe light headed out. Fishing was tough throughout the day as can be attested to by the low catch rate. Several Anglers were missing from this tournament for various reasons, one didn't wake up in time, one had both knees operated on and was unable to stand, one was working out of town and the other was fishing another tournament.

My partner Matt and I went north up the Rim Ditch almost to the end and fished up there for about 4 hours before deciding we had better try it a little more on the south end. We fished several locations on the way south to no avail. We arrived at the south end about 1300 (1:00 PM for those non-military people). Started fishing on the East side of the Rim Ditch. Matt and I were talking about how bad the fishing had been since we had not caught a fish all day, and I told him that I thought we ere fishing on the wrong side. So, we went to the dike side of the canal and within about 5 casts, Matt had a keeper, it was about 1:30 PM. Within the next one and a half hours we put five fish in the boat. Nothing big, but enough to put us in 3rd Place.

First Place and Big Fish Go to Bobby Sheltra and Ed Owens. 2nd Place was taken by Skip Jeslosky and Dean Baldwin. Big Fish was almost a toss up between Bobby Sheltra and Dean Baldwin. Sheltra's Fish weighted in at 3.55 pounds and Deans was 3.54 pounds. No angler had a 5 fish limit. Bobby had four every one else had something less.

Next Tournament will be back on J&S and of course I will be fishing the South end along with whoever my partner will be in that Tournament. See Ya at the Ramp.
