Mike Schlueter with Tourney Big Fish.
Two of our Anglers, Chuck Berger and Leroy Bauer had located themselves in the middle of the canal where there was a little water flow and were catching fish left and right although no one around them could get bit.
My partner and I decided to return to the North end of Taylor Creek and give it another try. After about 10 minutes I hit a fish that was about 2 pounds. A few minutes later my partner, Dave Caramone landed a keeper and then another. I was throwing a spinner bait and I though I felt a bump when I pulled the bait out of some lilly pads but did not get a hook up. I made another cast and about the spot where I had felt the first bump, I got nailed. A nice 3 pounder came to the boat. Shortly after that Dave landed one about 2 1/2 pounds. Now we both had 3 fish in the live well and that was all we could get.
Winners of the tournament Were Jeff Edgerly and Mike Schluter with a total weight of 20.81 pounds. Mike also had big fish for the tournament which weighed 6.96 pounds and was caught on a Jig. Second Place winner is Leroy Bauer and Chuck Berger with a total weight of 17.58 pounds. 3rd Place goes to Ed Owens and Sherman Cruse.
There was a total of 55 fish caught in this tournament by 16 Anglers. Weight of all fish caught was 110.24 pounds. That was almost double the weight of any previous tournament this year.
