Carl Lewis with the Tournament Big Fish on the Right.
No, not in the center.

East Coast Bass Anglers launched at Safe Light in extremely low water at the J&S Ramp on the East Side Of Lake Okeechobee. Each Angler had his place already staked out and at safe light headed out.

My partner,Walter Hunter, and I went south down the Rim Ditch and fished there all day. At our second stop I saw a fish swirl between two rocks that were out in the water away from the bank. I made a cast past and between the rocks. When the bait got back to where the swirl had been, the fish was there and hit the bait. I got it to the boat. I got my second fish on the other side farther down the ditch which wound up being big fish for the tournament. After 5 more fish, I culled two smaller ones and ended the tournament with the five fish limit. Walter got some hits during the day but was unable to stick any of them.

1st Place goes to Chris Hale and Matt Johnson with a total weight of 13.72 pounds.
2nd Place was taken by Skip Jeslosky and Mike Schlueter with 13.08 pounds.
3rd Place belongs to CarlLewis and Walter Hunter with 12.55 pounds.

This was a much more successful tournament than the last one with four anglers making the five fish limit. Big Fish belonged to Carl which weighed in at 4.60 pounds. Leroy Bauer had two nice fish of which the biggest was 4.32 pounds. Next Tournament will be held at Lake Kissimmee due to the extremely low water on Lake Okeechobee thanks to our Water Management Program. It's in real need of repair or Water Management needs to get out of the picture altogether and let Nature bring the lake back to normal. She certainly did a better job than these people have done. See Ya at the Ramp.
