East Coast Bass Anglers fished their monthly tournament on Lake Istakpoga Launching at the Istakpoga Park Ramp. Launch was at safe light and all anglers and boats were in the water and ready to go. My partner, Alex Pappas and I proceeded to a spot where I had located a few bass on Friday and by 8 AM I had my three fish in the boat. Alex had a couple of hits but was unable to hook up. We left the area for about 45 minutes to let it cool off and then returned. Alex caught a nice three pound bass and then his second fish. After about 45 minutes we proceeded to another spot with no luck so we returned to the first place where Alex hooked his third keeper giving each of us our limit of fish on the boat. That was about the end of our catching except for one other short fish I caught. At 2:45 we headed for the boat ramp and weigh in. Total weight of the 31 bass that were caught by the anglers was 71.47 pounds. Nine Anglers had their three fish limit for the lake.
We had five anglers fish the State Qualifier on Lake Istakpoga this past weekend and Mark Lundgren and Hunter Broggi both got checks for finishing in the top 25 of the tournament, Congratulations to both of them. Our other Anglers, Carl Lewis, Mike Schlueter and Dean Baldwin, caught fish but just did not have the weight to finish in the top 25.
