September 2007 results
Hunter With Big Fish is also Tourney Winner.
Saturday, September 22nd, East Coast Bass Anglers did their Thing. The schedule
was to launch at the J&S Ramp on the east side of Lake Okeechobee. However, low
water has left the end of the ramp out of the water and not usable. We elected
to Fish the C-24 Canal also known as county line canal, which divides St Lucie
Country and Martin County.
We launched at the Ramp at Safe light and
were on our way. My partner and I had prefished on Friday and located a place
that had possibilities. We made that our first stop, but the fish had left that
area. We went to the bend in the canal, thought the structure there was
sufficient enough to hold fish and started fishing. North of us, was one of
the other anglers, Bobby Sheltra, with his partner, Mike Schlueter. After a
short while, Skip and his partner showed up and passed us then
the last boat came by. All ended up in the same area down the ditch.
To make
This a short story, my partner and I caught a few fish during the day, but they were under
the 14 inch requirement. Other anglers had
the same problem. Several of our anglers said that they had caught a limit of
fish but could only bring 2 to the weigh in.
