September 2011 Results
Mark with 5.05 pound Tourney Big Bass.
This past Saturday, September 24th, East Coast Bass Anglers held their monthly tournament, launching out of the Scott Driver Ramp and the mouth of the Kissimmee River on Lake Okeechobee.
Ten anglers caught a total of 29 bass weighing a combined total of 43.61 pounds.
About 1:00 PM, Al was fishing the mouth of the river when he set the hook on a nice bass. The bass pulled back and Al lost his pole over the side, he jumped in the water, holding on to the boat and retrived his rod and reel. He handed it to his partner to hold while he got back in the boat. (Crocks, Gators, Sharks, Pirahnas!) Thinking the bass was gone, Al just started reeling it in for another cast when all of the sudden the fish gave a lunge and was still on the hook or a different fish had hit it as it started to move. At any rate, Al got the fish to the boat and it was a nice 3.80 pounder.
Fishing had slowed down quite a bit from the middle of the week with only three anglers bringing five fish limits to the scale. Next tournament will be on the the Big O, launching out of Scott Driver Ramp on October 8th. Early tournament due to The Florida Bass Federation Championship tournament on October 15 and 16th. Meeting will be on October 5th. Anglers, please take note of the changes.
See ya on the water and Tight Lines.
